How verification works
Christian Match Nigeria is built for intentional courtship. Verification is how we reduce fake profiles, romance scams, and “someone else behind the photos.” Verified members rank higher in Discover and carry a check mark on their profile.
Two steps
- Live video. Record a short clip of yourself following on-screen prompts. This confirms the person in the photos is you — not a downloaded picture.
- Identity (NIN). Submit your National Identification Number. When auto-check is available we confirm it instantly; otherwise a moderator reviews it. We do not show your NIN to other members.
What you get
- A verified badge on your profile, Discover cards, and chat.
- Higher placement in Discover (unverified members are still visible, just lower).
- Access to rooms that require verification, when a host turns that on.
- A shareable profile so people you invite can see you are a real, checked member.
What we never do
- We do not sell your identity documents.
- We do not dispatch police or emergency services. Date-safety check-ins notify your trusted contacts only.
- Changing country after you verify clears verification so location and identity stay aligned.
How long it takes
Auto-confirmed NIN is usually instant after live video is approved. Manual review is typically within one business day. You can keep using the app while a step is pending.
